| Sunday Worship Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Zach Hillman will begin a sermon series on ‘the gospel as a single story’Holy Communion is held on the second Sunday of each month (unless otherwise announced)     “… Come to where your heart can be transformed, your life made new and whole, to where tragedy is undone by joy. Come throughout the year to Sunday worship where the story is proclaimed week after week. Join a Bible study, get your small group rolling again. Enter into the faith practices that we will talk about through the year, as the church has done for centuries. Make connections, share a meal, share a coffee, share a work project, share in prayers for one another, for the world. You can’t make yourself part of the story, but you can show up where it is being told and celebrated. There is a place for you. You can grow into it. Accept God’s call to serve in the place he has equipped you to serve…” Pastor Curtis  Please continue to Pray ~ Give thanks that we are empowered by the Holy Spirit, enabling us to love God with our whole being, and to love our neighbours as ourselves. Ask that we will be inspired to meet the need of the world’s deep hunger with great passion.~ Ask for wisdom and courage to answer God’s call to proclaim our faith serving the church, community and the world. And ask for help teaching one another that all aspects of our lives are places we can profess our faith in God. ~ Give thanks that we are equipped to grow, and that we can hear God’s voice assuring us and calling us to serve.~ Give thanks that we have been entrusted to help in the unfolding of God’s story. And that we will be instilled with joy and energy, imagination and love as we respond to the call.~ Pray for us all to experience growth in a community of learning, filled with grace, strength and the peace of the Holy Spirit.Thrive: Newcomers – O Lord, open our eyes, that we may see the needs of immigrants and refugees; open our ears, that we may hear people’s cries for justice; open our hearts, that we may assist sojourners near and far. Show us where love, hope, and faith are needed. Let us not be afraid to protect the weak or to defend the poor because of the power and attitude of the rich. Sustain us to do the work of peace  September – Salvation Army /Bread of Life: Providing food and health care for community members in the Port Alberni area. October – Ty Watson House:Providing end of life Palliative Care.  Sunday School will resume on Sunday! Let Patty P, Erin K, Pamela V or Amy G. know if you can spare some time to help out with Sunday School or the Nursery.  We are restarting our Ladies Lunch on Wednesday @ 12 noon at the Cherry Creek Golf Course. Please let Lois L. know if you would like to join us by this coming Monday, September 21, so she can book accordingly.  The autumn equinox: Tuesday, September 22, at 5:05 p.m.  Council invites you to join us Sunday September 27th, at 10:00 am for a special service to celebrate and honour our beloved Pastor Curtis, so we can thank him for all the years he has served us. We will have the privilege of welcoming Pastor Willem Delleman, (from Christ Community Church in Victoria/ as well as chairman for BCNW Classis), who will preach for us this day. Following the service, there will be a time of fellowship downstairs, to include a light lunch and cake to celebrate and thank Curtis. (We know Curtis isn’t keen on eating but he loves us and we are sure he would like us to enjoy this time of food and fellowship together.) Please also don’t forget to bring your specially written cards, your hugs and your smiles! We look forward to having you join us then!  Tuesdays (2nd and 4th of each month): 9:00 ~ Serve at Shelter Farm; meet at church to carpool Wednesdays: 9:30 am ~ Ladies Bible Study. Thursdays : 5:00 – 6:30 pm ~ Ladies Bible Study of The ARMOR of GOD Third Sunday of each month: Prayer for our community volunteers after the Worship Service.
