True blessings for us all…. ‘… Jessica, thank you for your love, your grace and your quiet strength. You have poured your heart and soul into this church and community. Your kindness, prayers and sacrifices have not gone unnoticed…You are a beautiful person, you’re caring and servant hearted. We, who you spent so many years praying for and loving…’  Please continue to Pray ~ Give thanks that we have been saved and redeemed, and therefore can bask in the glory of God.~ Ask that our sons and daughters will be faithful witnesses to God’s glory through the church in Canada and world wide.~ Ask for wisdom and courage for all who serve the church, and pastors, elders, deacons and missionaries. May they serve with humility, compassion and love. ~ Give thanks for the many gifts that are received and celebrated by our church locally. Ask for guidance as we seek to discern God’s will for us as we move forward.~ Pray for those we know to be recovering their health or grieving loved ones. Remember the lonely, anxious and lost. And those suffering for reasons we aren’t necessarily aware of.~ Give thanks that our prayers are heard and answered, as we trust for His will to be done.  October – Ty Watson House: Providing end of life Palliative Care. November – Canada Food Grains Bank: World Renew receives requests for food and provides help where needed. It ensures that the support provided will improve the lives of the people receiving the assistance – in both the short and long terms.Our budget offerings support the work of our local church and denomination ministries like these:All Nations Heritage Sunday – Thrive’s LEAD Scholarship  “Today we celebrate All Nations Heritage Sunday. Thrive is dedicated to bringing more diversity into the future leadership of the denomination through the L.E.A.D. Scholarship fund. LEAD is an acronym that stands for: Leadership Equipping: Advocating Diversity. Applicants to this scholarship are students of various multicultural backgrounds and members of CRCNA congregations who plan to, or who are currently pursuing their educational goals at higher learning institutions affiliated with the CRCNA. Your donations will grow this fund and help this endeavor.”  Thanksgiving Special Collection: The Bread of Life/Salvation Army We are continuing to collect items to be donated to the Salvation Army. *Non-perishable food is always welcome! As an alternative, *personal hygiene items (soap, small bottles of body wash/shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, pads/tampons, adult Depends) and *baby products (diapers, wipes, formula) would also be appreciated. There is a bin the foyer for donations. Thank you!  It’s that time of year again. Council is requesting that all committees are to submit their Budget Reports to the Administration Committee ASAP. There will be an Administration meeting on October 29th to review the reports.  Thanksgiving Sunday The Worship Committee would like to encourage everyone to bring an item that you are thankful for to the Sanctuary for Thanksgiving Sunday (October 11) that can be added into the display. (You can bring your item this coming Sunday if you’d like and we’ll see to it that it gets added in.) We’d also like 2 or 3 people to speak briefly about what your item means to you. If you’d are willing to talk about your item, please let Annemarie know. * After the Thanksgiving Service, please remember to take your items home with you. Thank-you so much for sharing! | Sunday Worship Service will be held at 10:00 a.m.We welcome Pastor Zach HillmanHoly Communion is held on the second Sunday of each month (unless otherwise announced)  Please continue to Pray ~ Give thanks that we can look to God as the stable centre of our existence during these wild and confusing times. ~ Pray for people worldwide who are living with the pressures of hunger; climate change; disease and pestilence; unclean water and drought in addition to political, religious and ethnic tensions. Ask that their faith will be deepened through the grace of the Holy Spirit. ~ Give thanks for the expansion of the outreach programs for children at Mission del Acance. Continue to pray for protection for our missionaries, Mimi in Guatemala City and the Umran family in Cairo. ~ Pray for all ministries we provide support to. At this time remember especially Arrowsmith Ridge Community Association, Franklin Road Therapeutic Recovery Community (TRC) at Shelter Farm and the newly opened Seven Springs TRC for men at Nanoose. ~ Ask that those in our congregation living with health issues, financial stress, strained relationships and the loss of loved ones will find relief from their burdens. ~ Pray that those working in health care, policing, peace keeping and firefighting will be refreshed and kept safe. ~ Ask that we all will receive wisdom and guidance as we prepare for the upcoming municipal and provincial elections. Wednesday Morning Bible Study Our study of Ephesians has commenced at the regular time of 10:00-11:30 am. We would love to have anyone interested join in with a core group that has been meetng throughout the summer. If this interests you or if you have questions, please connect with Joanne at (250 731-6494). Our goal is a deeper relationship with our Creator, and deepened relationships with one another. Thursday Evening Bible Study The Ladies Bible study is not meeting Thursday October 15th. We will start with a new series to be announced on October 22nd  Cherry Creek Golf Course 12 noon on Wednesday, Oct 21* Please email Lois L if you would like to attend by Monday, October 19.  Use of church facilities If you would like to use the church facilities for a personal event, please contact Carol D at 250-723-3781 to check on availability and obtain a User Form.  It’s that time of year again. Council is requesting that all committees are to submit their receipts and Budget Reports to the Administration Committee before Oct. 29th. Reports can be emailed to: clerk@avcrc.org or given to Helle C. Council and Admin members, along with the Treasurer, are to meet on Oct. 29th, 2026 at 7:00 pm in the Annex building to discuss the budget. * The Annual Congregation Budget meeting will be held in the sanctuary, on Nov.22nd, after the church service.   Nothing goes to waste with regenerative farming!At Arrowsmith Ridge Farms, we use local sawdust, fish waste, kelp, farm green waste, and expired produce from grocery stores to create nutrient-rich compost that helps us grow our crops the following year. It’s all part of closing the waste loop, building healthy soil, and growing good food for our community.
