| Sunday Worship Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Holy Communion is held on the second Sunday of each month (unless otherwise announced)  Please Pray – for our world, which often is far from what God intended. Entrust a deeper commitment in world leaders that their policies align with the protection of our planet. – for better relationships between countries that we can move closer to sharing each other’s resources in a more fair, equitable and wholesome manner. – for our cities, towns and villages across British Columbia as we head towards Municipal Elections October 17. – for our students as they enjoy their last week of Summer vacation before heading back to school – our Grade School children and our College/University youth and adults.  August – Benevolent Fund (Deacons): Provides support as needed to members of the church and community. A policy and guidelines are in place. September – Salvation Army / Bread of Life: Providing food and health care for community members in the Port Alberni area.  A Reminder From the Deacons: Please include a name (and address if we don’t have you in our system), if you want a tax receipt for cash money donated. All loose collections will go to the budget unless earmarked for one of the organizations we regularly contribute to.  September 13 – Church Service/Picnic at Blair Park In order to make it easy for everyone we are asking guests to please bring: * some food to share * your own plate, cutlery, cup * your own chair Gateway Church will be joining us!  Administration Committee Update The Security System has been upgraded for our Buildings – the Church and the Hall. Blanchard Security is now our provider. The Entering/’Exiting Sheet has been upgraded by the Alarm Pads. The process is the same. The only difference really is if you trigger an alarm and what to do then. Blanchard Security will be giving a Telephone Conference Training Session on September 8 at 10:00 a.m.; for anyone interested, to go over the new system and answer any questions. Please meet at the Church. For further details, please speak with Jake or Carol.  Tuesdays (2nd and 4th of each month): 9:00 ~ Serve at Shelter Farm; meet at church to carpool Wednesdays: 9:30 am ~ Ladies Bible Study will commence with a new study topic on September 16th. Details to come! Third Sunday of each month: Prayer for our community volunteers after the Worship Service.
